Shira Matsuri (しらまつり Shira Matsuri) is one of the deuteragonists (alongside Dante Doomfire) in The Punkettes, serving as the posthumous overarching protagonist of the first two seasons, and deuteragonist for the rest of the series. She is also a supporting character in The Minu Krab series, and a mentioned character and possibly the overarching protagonist in The Start of the Mysterious Tragedy midquel.
She is Spyro Doomfire's best friend and adoptive sister, Dai Matsuri's older sister, the niece of Ainlie Matsuri Shira took a lot of steps to find Leakianmishi, according to Leaki's flashback. An accident caused by a mysterious fire catalyzes the events of the Punkettes, leading Spyro and her allies to band together to investigate the "accident" and catch the culprit responsible.

Appearance[]
Shira is a young female with fair skin, red and yellow hair, and purple eyes. She wears a faint orange shirt under her dark gray jacket, grey headphones, a silver belt, a light and dark blue skirt, translucent tights, and white boots with rose flames. Her hair was tied to a pigtail with a skull hair clip. She also wears skull earrings, a red and white bandanna, and red jewel necklace. Prior to the fire incident, she wears a red scouter. As a ghost, her hair is completely down, and is translucent with a blue aura.
Personality[]
Incredibly kind, encouraging and hard-working, Shira is considered the epitome of a great sister, niece, and student, always there when people need her. She has an energetic sense of humor and can be silly and excitable. Ever the optimist, she successfully balances this rising career and providing moral and emotional support for her younger sister, Dai, and her adoptive sister Spyro while keeping a good attitude and a happy smile.
She has carried the burden of responsibility. She is also gentle and understanding, though as a sister, she can still be rough on occasion. She encourages Spyro and Dai to be the best that she can be and supports them in their endeavors. She was also sneaky, as she promised Spyro she would take her to a fight but in reality took her to San Dosaka High.
However, she was also shown to have a silly, playful, goofy side to herself. She was also excitable, as shown when she was happy after finally finding Leakianmishi and ran around and hugged her. She is dedicated to helping others no matter what the cost is to her- a statement undeniably proven when she makes the ultimate sacrifice in an attempt to protect Peppa Sikami.
History[]
Shira was born on April 16th, 1998 to unknown parents and was the older sister of Dai Matsuri. Not much is known of her childhood aside from being a childhood of Yi Liu and Violet Yesson, the latter of the two having been best friends with Shira since kindergarten and Violet having made Shira eat dog treats as a double dare.
At her 15th birthday on the year 2013, she first met a wolf fridnikan named Spyro Doomfire after wandering about in Boboku National Park. After a while of speaking about their problems, the two became best friends, and Shira having gave the offer to Spyro to stay with her, to which she accepted. Taking Spyro to her high school, where the wolf girl met Shira's closest friends. On the night of the Talent Show, Spyro's performance of When I'm Gone lead to her acceptance.
The happiness was short-lived, as a fire broke loose in the auditorium. While civilians manage to escape, Shira learns that Peppa is still trapped inside the burning building. With no help around to save her, Shira boldly yet foolishly volunteers her own life. A fearful Spyro tries to stop her adoptive sister, but reluctantly allows the decision upon seeing Shira's humanity and motivation to rescue her mentor before it was too late. Shira then gives Spyro her red scouter as something to remember her by. After rushing inside, Spyro tries to go inside as well, however, it was too late, as the building violently explodes, with Spyro having broken her arm, and Shira killed.
In the aftermath of her death, a heartbroken Spyro fell into a severe state of depression and was left with severe mental trauma, and became suicidal. Spyro couldn't believe it, yet has to come to terms on the day of Shira's funeral. Up until graduating, she mostly ignored a lot of people. Spyro stayed with Ainlie and Dai up until her graduation from high school, then leaving them for college in Tampa Bay, Florida. After moving in with Dante, Spyro would then tell her new roommates about Shira. By the time of the move to San Dosaka, Spyro was reluctant, but soon accepted it, with Spyro reuniting with Ainlie and meeting the brand new Dai, who was no longer weird, a pacifist, no longer geeks out, her hair is down, having contact lenses, and is now a rebellious punk.

- According to Yuki Satash, Shira's hair color and appearance is based on Sunset Shimmer's appearance, word of God says it is made for similarities, and that she possibly regrets doing this today.
- It is unknown why Pepper decided to kill Shira, It is rumored that Pepper chose to kill Shira in order to drive Spyro into evil, only for Spyro to be brainwashed by Dark Kendra.
