The Sniper (real name Man-dee or Mr. Mundy), is a supporting character in Soul Bringer. He is one of nine mercenaries hired by Mann Co. to defeat the rival competition during the Gravel War in 1968. Sniper, alongside the other mercenaries joined Lady Emeraldblade in her cause to defeat Nightmare and save the Universe.
The Sniper has light skin and a tall, slender body. He has short, black hair and blueish-grey eyes. He wears a pair of black glasses and a brown safari hat on his head.
His main outfit consists of a red shirt with a black vest. He wears a pair of dark khaki pants with brown boots, and a single black wingless glove on his left hand. Around his left wrist, he wears a gold watch with a black strap. On his back, he carries a brown quiver, which he uses to carry arrows for his Huntsman bow.
Personality[]
The Sniper is a very patient man. He will often wait for hours, if not days to locate his target(s) in a single vicinity, living off rations of coffee.
Though the Sniper claims that he is polite, his comments on eliminating his enemies are rather harsh and insulting, often mocking how poorly the enemy team performs in combat.
The Sniper is implied to be the only one of the mercenaries who has a valid driver's license, as he is the only one mentioned to be driving.
History[]
Little is known about the Sniper before 1968, that year he alongside eight other mercenaries were hired by Mann Co. to fight off a rival branch in a conflict that came to be known as the Gravel War. The Sniper's job was to pick off weaker enemies as well as slower, stronger ones that presented a problem to his team.
For several years, the team gained the upper hand against their adversaries, but that all changed when Saxton Hale, the company's CEO surrendered to Gray Mann's daughter Olivia, forcing him to hand over power of the company to her, and jeopardizing the mercenaries' jobs. Over time, Olivia made countless bad corporate decisions, which ended up bankrupting Mann Co., forcing the company to lay off the mercenaries (the Sniper among them). The team relocated to an abandoned subsidiary of the company in the New Mexico desert, where they established a secret bunker located underneath the ruins of the building.
For several decades, the Sniper and his team kept a relatively low profile, only going out to pick up supplies they needed. That all changed in 2024 however, when he, the Soldier, and the Demoman were out in Roswell to pick up an "important" package. During the mission, the Soldier and the Demoman confronted a mysterious woman, resulting in a battle that led to the two mercenaries being defeated thanks to stage power that the woman possessed. They then took the woman with them in order to question her about her knowledge in Merasmus, an old enemy of the team's past. Sniper was flabbergasted and confused as to why his teammates brought her with them, but Soldier demanded him to leave Roswell before the cops caught up to them, promising to reveal everything back at the base.
Upon returning to the bunker, the Sniper, as well as the rest of his team learned that the woman's name was Lady Emeraldblade, and that she was searching for Merasmus, believing that he is "a sorcerer" that was working for an evil knight named Nightmare, who was planning on destroying the universe.
After coming up with a plan to find and defeat Merasmus, the Sniper, alongside the Engineer and the Medic, volunteered to accompany Lady Emeraldblade to Cheeseman Park, southeast of Denver Colorado, where the Engineer found a signal that suggested where Merasmus may be located.
